Antonio Zamperla SpA, world leader in the amusement industry as ride manufacturer and park operator, has left the company set up in 2007 with the Italian group Thorus to acquire and operate the amusement park in Capriate San Gervasio, Bergamo, Italy, later renamed Minitalia Leolandia Park, and is now fully focused on the re-launch of the historically significant Luna Park of Coney Island, New York. Luna Park is part of a much wider revitalization plan for the entire community, strongly supported by the Municipality together with the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Coney Island Development Corporation. Minitalia Leolandia Park has been given back to visitors after a total make-up according to a re-launch and operation plan which has considered the installation of a total of 16 new rides for families and teen-agers as well as the restoration of the whole park viability, theme and food areas. The amusement park in Capriate has in the meantime gained in appeal and is now in a position to offer patrons a varied choice of entertainment and “Edutainment” proposals ranging from a permanent exhibition dedicated to Leonardo to upgraded zoological areas (the aquarium, the reptile sector, the parrot cage, and the farm).Antonio Zamperla Spa has operated the park with the support of experienced international managers and has focused on staff training towards customer care, environment cleanliness and order. The policy implemented by Zamperla has laid the foundations for the new operating company belonging to the Thorus group to further improve the existing mix of culture and adventure, entertainment and discovery, between tradition and innovation. Antonio Zamperla SpA will continue to co-operate with the new operating company as an independent consultant.
