Having a park like Lotte World Adventure Busan debut the Double Heart has been fantastic for Zamperla.
“We are thrilled to open the first Double Heart in the world and our second project with the Lotte Group- both in 2026,” said CEO Antonio Zamperla. “This is a landmark project for our company and we could not be more thrilled to showcase something this innovative with a partner like Lotte World Adventure Busan. It is a fantastic way to continue to celebrate our 60th anniversary,” he shared.
The Double Heart towers above the rest of the attractions at the park. Standing 50 m (164 ft), it is the property’s tallest attraction and also its fastest. The coaster also provides a set of thrills unmatched in the region.
“What I love about the experience that it packs an amazing amount of coaster into 323 meters (1,066 feet) of linear track. The three launches, the last one reaching a top speed of 110 km/h (68 mph), a near-vertical dive and two inversions happen one after another. The Double Heart offers more thrills per-meter than any other coaster I have been on,” said Davide Donadello, Zamperla’s Sales & Operation Manager for China & Korea Region.
One of the Double Heart’s biggest differentiators is its footprint. While coaster stands 50 meters tall it requires minimal ground space, only 70.1 m x 21.2 m (230 x 70 ft). This means that many parks can squeeze the coaster into many areas of their properties, but also that the installation costs are significantly lower than coasters of a comparable stature.
“We worked to create a dynamic experience that fit in the smallest space possible. It was a challenging project, but the end result is a great ride that demonstrates how far we have come with our roller coaster design and fabrication,” said Elisa Dall Alba, a mathematician who is one of Zamperla’s key roller coaster designers.
Federico Brancaleoni, Zamperla’s Design & Proposal Engineering Lead, agreed. “The Double Heart is a culmination of the work we have done to make smoother and more exciting coasters, and we couldn’t be prouder of the result.”
The coaster utilizes Zamperla’s Lightning trains. Known for their comfort and roominess, they set a new standard for coaster vehicle design. In addition, the wide row-to-row distance allows parks to get the maximum capacity possible.
