Zamperla Delivers Nine Attractions, Including the World’s Tallest Pendulum Ride
The opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City marks a significant milestone for the global themed entertainment industry and a defining moment for Saudi Arabia’s growing leisure and tourism sector. As part of the broader Qiddiya City development, the park is set to become a new international hub for entertainment, welcoming families and thrill-seekers from the region and beyond.
Within this landmark destination, Zamperla has played a central role, supplying 9 of the park’s 28 attractions: a significant contribution that reinforces Zamperla’s position as a trusted global partner for large-scale, next-generation parks.
Six Flags Qiddiya City has been conceived as more than a theme park. It is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s vision to diversify its economy, invest in quality of life, and establish world-class leisure destinations capable of attracting millions of visitors annually.
With a carefully curated mix of record-breaking thrill rides and immersive family attractions, the park sets a new benchmark for entertainment in the Middle East, positioning Qiddiya as a must-visit destination on the global theme park map.
Zamperla’s Contribution: 9 Attractions for All Ages
Zamperla supplied nine attractions to Six Flags Qiddiya City, delivering a balanced portfolio of family and family-thrill flat rides designed to maximize inclusivity, repeatability, and shared experiences.
Zamperla attractions at Six Flags Qiddiya City include:
Together, these attractions form a cohesive offering that allows different generations to enjoy the same destination, supporting Zamperla’s long-standing commitment to inclusive entertainment.
Gyrospin: The World’s Tallest Pendulum Ride
A standout among the attractions is Giga Discovery (Gyrospin), which is one of the park’s most iconic landmarks.
Reaching 53 meters (173 feet), Gyrospin is officially the tallest pendulum ride in the world. Featuring nonstop gondola rotation combined with extreme swing heights and forces, it pushes the boundaries of what a flat ride can deliver—both in terms of thrill and visual impact.
Beyond the ride experience, Gyrospin acts as a signature attraction, visible from across the park and emblematic of Six Flags Qiddiya City’s ambition to host world-record experiences.
Theming, Visual Storytelling, and Immersion
In addition to ride engineering, a key focus of the project was theming and visual storytelling. Zamperla’s Art Department worked in close collaboration with the project team to ensure each attraction was not only exciting to ride, but also immersive, visually distinctive, and aligned with the park’s narrative environments.
This integrated approach reflects Zamperla’s belief that modern attractions must engage guests emotionally as well as physically, through design, color, detailing, and storytelling.
A Long-Standing Presence in the Middle East, a Historic Anniversary Ahead
Zamperla’s involvement in Six Flags Qiddiya City is further strengthened by its 30-year presence in the Middle East through Zamperla Middle East, which supports customers across the region with local expertise, service, and long-term partnerships.
The project also arrives at a meaningful moment in the company’s history: 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Zamperla, celebrating six decades of innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication to creating rides that bring people together.
With Six Flags Qiddiya City, Zamperla once again demonstrates its ability to contribute to visionary destinations—combining engineering excellence, creative storytelling, and a global outlook shaped by decades of experience.
Antonio Zamperla, President and CEO of Zamperla, commented:
“As Zamperla approaches its 60th anniversary, projects like Six Flags Qiddiya City carry a particularly deep meaning for us. They represent not only where we are going as a company, but also the journey that has brought us here—six decades of passion, innovation, and a constant desire to create attractions that bring people together.
We are incredibly proud of our collaboration with Six Flags Qiddiya City, a project that will truly reshape the entertainment landscape in Saudi Arabia. Contributing nine family and thrill flat rides reflects Zamperla’s long-standing commitment to creating fun experiences for everyone, across generations.
A major highlight is our record-breaking Gyrospin: a massive pendulum swing ride reaching 53 meters (173 feet), officially the world’s tallest pendulum ride.
For nearly 60 years, our goal has been to combine engineering excellence with creativity and emotion, designing rides that are not only thrilling, but also meaningful, inclusive, and visually iconic. Qiddiya is a powerful expression of that legacy, and a symbol of how our heritage continues to shape the future of global entertainment.”
