On the IAAPA Expo floor Lotte World Busan and Zamperla announced the first Double Heart will open in 2026.
“One of the highlights of our 60th anniversary is the world’s first Double Heart coaster opening at Lotte World Adventure Busan,” said Antonio Zamperla, President & CEO of Zamperla. “We have combined Italian passion, innovation and engineering since 1966 and that’s evident in the recent growth of our Roller Coaster Business Unit. We announced both the revamp of our roller coaster team and the Double Heart in 2021. As we step into the next 60 years, we are thrilled that experiences like this record-breaking coaster and great partners like the Lotte Corporation lead the way,” he exclaimed.
The Double Heart is the world’s largest compact triple launch coaster. It stands 50 meters (164 feet) tall but has a small footprint of 70 x 21 meters (230 x 70 ft). This innovation gives it a huge vertical presence, and the iconic look quickly becomes a park’s new icon.
“Lotte World Adventure Busan has been a fantastic partner for Zamperla,” said Davide Donadello, Zamperla’s Sales & Operations Manager for the China & Korea Regions. “The property opened with nine Zamperla attractions and we are thrilled that they chose an iconic coaster like the Double Heart for their latest addition,” he shared.
The Double Heart is part of Zamperla’s Triple Launch Family. Like the famous Top Thrill 2, the Double Heart has three launches before it rockets skyward at 110 km/h (68 mph). It uses the Lightning trains, Zamperla’s thrill platform. With a wide row-to-row seat distance, some of the most comfortable roller coaster restraints, and a 120 cm (48 in) rider height requirement, this vehicle was designed with the latest coaster technology.
