Developed to the stringent quality and safety standards that define Zamperla, Dragonix was brought to Costa Rica through a structured, end-to-end collaboration between Zamperla and Parque Diversiones. From early planning through installation and delivery, the project was shaped by a multidisciplinary approach that brought together engineering, project coordination, innovation, and theming.

A high-impact Air Race for the Latin American market 

Zamperla’s Air Race was selected for its ability to deliver dynamic aerial motion, sweeping turns, and sustained G-forces, positioning it as a high-adrenaline experience designed primarily for teens and adults. With Dragonix, Parque Diversiones expands its portfolio of extreme attractions. 

Exclusive theming: dragons that rule the sky 

One of the most distinctive elements of Dragonix is its exclusive theming, developed specifically for the park. Built around a dragon-inspired storyline, Dragonix - the Alpha Dragon awakens from the depths to dominate the skies of Parque Diversiones, turning the ride into an immersive experience where guests become riders flying alongside Dragonix and other dragons. 

“Our creative process always starts by identifying a clear thematic ‘north star,’ and then ensuring every element consistently points back to that main narrative,” said Enrico Patechi, Zamperla's Creative Design Manager. “For Dragonix, that meant a very deliberate level of care: refining details across the full guest journey so the story reads instantly and cohesively, from the first visual impact to the final ride moment.” 

This approach demonstrates how Zamperla attractions can be integrated into original concepts and locally resonant storytelling, supporting parks in building experiences that are both high-thrill and highly immersive.
